Re: The tip mentioned above.
I routinely stitch a strip of Pelite about 1-1/2 inches wide onto the skin side of the axilliary loops of body-powered upper-limb prostheses. The dacron straps are usually 1" wide, so the extra 1/2" helps to distribute the forces on the skin. After a short period of wear, the Pelite shapes very nicely to the underarm area. The first time I tried it (I don't recall why I did!), I expected it would rip off in a fairly short time, but it doesn't; and patients all say it is more comfortable than the plastic tubing normally used on the underarm strap.
